Evol Tech GSX/R 1000 Shorty Muffler Fabrication.

A customer of ours has a nice aftermarket exhaust system on his bike, although the can is pretty bulky and the style outdated.  Since the header is adequate, we're fabricating a slip-on shorty muffler for him -- similar to the ones we've been running on our sprint bikes for the last several years.  Just the ticket to wake up the appearance -- and sound -- of his bike.  We'll post finished pictures soon...

Evol Tech at the International Motorcycle Show.

We had a blast this past weekend at the International Motorcycle Show in Seattle -- met lots of great people and picked up a ton of excellent feedback.  We shared a booth with our colleagues at the MotoFit Group and enjoyed great synergy and positive energy over the entire show.  Thank you Rob and Kara for a perfect weekend!

Our booth -- ready for action :)

Rob demonstrating ET-X rearsets and providing insight to proper body positioning.

We looped a video featuring MotoFit and e/t footage over the course of the show.

We were extremely happy with the interest in our booth, although it did make for tiring days!

Jason DiSalvo, AMA pro racer, stopped by and spent an hour or so talking to us.  What a great guy -- down-to-earth, friendly, smart, and incredibly fast.  Jason attended one of Rob's events last summer and will hopefully join in the fun again this season.

Rob in good form.

The video, which we'll post to the blog soon, was a big hit.

Excellent weekend.  Wonder where we'll be next year...

ET-X Rearset Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

During the design phase, we run the numbers in many different ways.  In order to analyze our designs for mechanical strengths and weaknesses, we perform FEA on all of our components, simulating various loads we expect our products to encounter -- from the rider's weight on the footpegs to the force of a highside crash.

In this simulation of a lowside crash, the force of the bike landing on the rearset deflects the triangle inward, as we'd expect.  We designed the part to deflect in order to absorb impact energy without breaking the part or the motorcycle frame tabs.  Through other calculations based on FEA techniques, we were able to verify also that the rearset would return nearly to its original shape after impact.

2011 OMRRA Awards Banquet.

Super fun evening, hanging out and celebrating with so many of the friends we've worked with over the years.  Special thanks to Alan Schmidt for the hospitality -- what a champion!

Alan Schmidt receiving his 8th consecutive Overall Championship trophy, with the inimitable Rob Tatum backing him up.  Beyond being an amazing racer, Alan is a super person -- no one more deserving of the success.  Alan began running ET-R rearsets as soon as they became available this past year and he plans on running them again next season.  Thank you, Alan!

Alan and my good friend and fellow e/t sponsored rider, Lenny Hale.  Lenny is also a blindingly fast racer we're going to be hearing more and more about in the coming years -- trust me on that.  Lenny also began running ET-R rearsets as soon as they became available.  He and his team have them on all of their GSX/Rs and they too plan on running them next season.  Stay tuned for more details on our plans to support Lenny and Alan next year.  For now let me just tell you I am super excited for the coming season!

From Left to right, Rob Burch, Mike McDonnough, Alan Schmidt, Jason Zaslaw, Rob Tatum, Rob Burch, and Mike McDonnough.  Rob and Jason are also supported by e/t.  Rob runs the ET-X rearsets, and Jason the ET-R's.  The feedback these guys have given us has been instrumental in the further development of our product.  Evol Technology is super fortunate to have such talented riders and racers at the core of its R&D.  Thanks, guys!

Oh, btw -- if you hadn't figured it out, the OMRAA banquet had an 80's theme this year :)

New Product Testing at PIR.

We recently snuck in a few late autumn hours at PIR testing some new product concepts with great results.  Excited to share the details -- stay tuned!

ET-X Rearset Adjustment Blocks for Early GSX/Rs.

We finished machining the final components for the latest addition to the ET-X product line this past week.  Following a trial fitment, we'll add them to the catalog.

Another day, another pile of chips...

Refining the ET-R "reverse" shift lever.  Rather than pivoting from the rearset, this shift lever is designed to pivot from a bracket mounted to the frame spar.  It is adjustable not only in toe peg placement, but also in shift throw, providing ample tuning range.  Both this design as well as the conventional type lever will be made available to the rider/racer.

ET-X Rearsets for early GSX/Rs.

CAD model is now complete for the newest addition to the ET-X rearset line.  We have a bit more machining to do, and will hopefully be doing our first fitment this coming week.  Stay tuned...

Evol Technology Sponsoring Kinzer Naylor.

Evol Technology is proud to announce their sponsorship of Kinzer Naylor, of Eugene, Oregon. Evol Tech will be partnering with the MotoFit Group, working with Kinzer for the upcoming OMRRA season.  16 years old, Kinzer graduated from OMMRA's Novice School with two class wins on the final weekend of the racing season.  He went on to capture a 5th in Formula Ultra, 2nd in 750 Superbike, and 4th in Open Superbike -- on a stock 600 in the rain.  Very impressive!

Congrats on Another #1 Plate, Alan!

Alan Schmidt captured OMRRA's Overall Championship again this year, riding Evol Technology ET-R rearsets!  We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Alan as one of our featured development riders -- he is a true champion on and off the track -- such a great person.  Alan's input was instrumental in the development of these parts, providing critical feedback over the course of the R&D process.  Needless to say, we are super excited to continue our relationship with him into the future.  Thank you, Alan!

Visiting Motomorphic.

We spent the Laguna-Seca MotoGP weekend with our good friend Jim Davis of Motomorphic. Jim is a true iconoclast and so we'd expect nothing less of his creation, the JAFM.  What a head-turner, not to meantion a blast to ride!

Learn more about the Motomorphic JAFM at motomorphic.com.  In the meanwhile, here are a few snapshots to whet your appetite:
